A year and a half in the making, this project began as a full gut renovation of a 1950s Spanish-style home, reimagined for a modern family while honoring the architectural language that made it special in the first place.
The goal was not to erase the past, but to reinterpret it. Arched thresholds, textured plaster walls, and terracotta rooflines remain as quiet nods to the home’s origins, now paired with a refined, California modern sensibility — lighter, more open, and deeply connected to the way the family lives today.

The kitchen acts as a central anchor, where dramatic stone surfaces meet custom wood cabinetry, creating a space that is both highly functional and visually striking. Living areas are designed for flexibility and comfort, blending low, sculptural seating with vintage and contemporary pieces that encourage gathering, lounging, and everyday use.

Throughout the home, art plays a defining role — layered, expressive, and deeply personal — bringing energy and narrative into otherwise quiet, grounded interiors.

Sculptural seating, organic textures, and sun-washed materials create a sense of ease, blurring the line between indoor and outdoor living. The result is a home that feels both rooted and renewed — a thoughtful balance of heritage and modernity, designed to evolve with the family while maintaining a strong sense of place.

Outdoors, the experience extends seamlessly. The courtyard, pool, and lounge areas were reimagined to reflect a relaxed California lifestyle, where entertaining and retreat coexist.
